Dr. Jawad Kiani is a highly trained Interventional Cardiologist specializing in structural heart disease, coronary interventions, and peripheral vascular procedures. He brings extensive experience from leading institutions across the nation and a strong commitment to delivering timely access, evidence based medicine and collaborative patient-centered cardiovascular care. Dr. Kiani joins the Cardiovascular Institute of the Rockies (CVIR) as the Director of Cardiology and Director of Structural Heart Disease. In this role, he will be providing comprehensive cardiovascular evaluation and medical management,
along with advanced, minimally invasive treatment options for complex cardiovascular conditions.
After completing his cardiovascular training at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Kiani developed a strong foundation in complex cardiac care and evidence-based practice. Prior to joining CVIR, he served as Director of Structural Heart Disease and Partner at Nevada Cardiology Associates, where he led program development and advanced innovative structural heart interventions. He has also held positions at other respected programs nationwide. His clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease, with a particular focus on cutting-edge structural heart therapies.
Board-certified in both interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease, Dr. Kiani is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (F.A.C.C.) and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (F.S.C.A.I.). He is actively involved in national education and innovation initiatives and has participated on medical advisory boards and speakers’ bureaus for leading structural heart therapies, including TAVR, MitraClip, PFO/ASD repair, WATCHMAN, and Tricuspid Valve Repair/Replacement (TriClip, EVOQUE). In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kiani has contributed extensively to cardiovascular research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations focused on interventional cardiology, structural heart disease, and outcomes-based patient care.
He enjoys seeing his patients in the office and developing long term close relationships with them. He strongly believes in the Mayo Clinic philosophy that “the needs of the patient come first”.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys skiing, golfing, squash, mountain biking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his family.
